According to one royal expert, William and Kate would strongly dislike what Harry has said about Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.
A brotherly rift that runs deep
For years, Prince Harry and Prince William have reportedly had little to no contact. Despite their shared history, a reconciliation appears unlikely. When William first became a father with the birth of Prince George, relations between the brothers were said to be warm.
However, Harry later claimed in Spare that the arrival of his nephew permanently altered his relationship with both William and Catherine. He met Meghan some years later, and in 2020 the couple made the controversial decision to step away from royal duties.
That move did not sit well with William, the future king, but Harry has been clear that he would not allow anyone else to dictate his path. This became even more apparent when he openly criticized several family members in his book — including remarks about his niece and nephew, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Harry’s comments about the “spares”
In Spare and subsequent interviews, Harry argued that Charlotte and Louis, like him, would be considered “spares” rather than heirs, and therefore less important than the firstborn destined for the throne. He also expressed concern that their lives could be negatively shaped by that role.
Promoting his memoir in an interview with The Telegraph, Harry said, “Though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility, I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare and that hurts, that worries me.”
While William and other members of the Royal Family have largely stayed silent about Harry’s remarks, one expert suggests the Prince of Wales would be unhappy with his brother discussing his children publicly.
Expert says William won’t appreciate it
Speaking to OK! Magazine, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said, “Harry has a huge chip on his shoulder about being a spare, we all know that now, but he doesn’t have to assume that William and Catherine’s children will feel the same as him.”
