“They have been through enough,” one insider said. “They are not being blamed. There is a lot of compassion. They are not pariahs. They are cared for and loved under the circumstances which are incredibly painful.”

The source added that the shift in sentiment has been directed toward their parents rather than the sisters themselves.

“The only feelings that have changed are toward Andrew and Fergie. They don’t hold Beatrice and Eugenie accountable. They are victims. … They have had strong royal connections and are still getting support from them.”

According to the insider, members of the family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, are still believed to maintain a close relationship with the two princesses.

Keeping distance from the scandal

Meanwhile, another report from Page Six suggested that their mother, Sarah Ferguson, has been staying with friends, including Priscilla Presley, during the ongoing controversy.

Sources believe maintaining some distance may be important for protecting the sisters’ standing within the monarchy.

“Now that Andrew has lost his royal title, the girls are the only members of the family who are real royals,” an insider said. “It’s more important than ever for them to be kept as far away from the scandal as possible.”

Representatives for Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as their parents and the Prince and Princess of Wales, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
