I almost had an urge to kick him to death.
"Isn't he treating her badly enough? Is he an idiot?"
"I made her do what every woman would do. Women in other families have to do housework and take care of children too."
"Wow, he is taking advantage of Aurora's kindness. Does he know that he, who married a fairy, is reaching beyond his station?"
"Are women from other families the same fairies as Aurora?"
He suddenly realized something and shook his head.
"Now everyone in the village knows that you married a fairy. Who knows how many men are secretly coveting her? Maybe they are hoping that you will mistreat the fairy so that they can have a chance to be with her."
As soon as Luke heard me say this, he felt a sense of crisis.
In the past, the men in the village were envious, jealous, and resentful of him. They were always praising him for being amazing.
They complimented him on being able to marry a fairy.
He was proud when he heard these compliments.
Now, he realized that these men might all want to marry fairies too.
I told Luke that he should do more work and learn how to take care of the children after he was home. He should try his best to let the fairy live the life she used to have.
Luke immediately pulled me, saying he wanted to go home.
I followed him back slowly.
Luke snatched the child from Aurora's arms, saying he would take care of him.
He told Aurora to stop weaving and sit down to rest herself.
I looked at the scene and felt very pleased, thinking that he did have some great potential.
But Aurora started crying.
She asked Luke if she had done something wrong.
"Well, is she sick?"
"Aurora is such a love-struck woman!"
I gave Luke a signal. Then I called Aurora out.
Aurora was sobbing. She asked me why Luke suddenly told her not to do house chores.
I was speechless for a moment.
"Is she addicted to working?"
"At least, being a nanny can earn her some money."
"Why does she love working so much even though she doesn't make any money?"
"Do you want Luke to continue loving you?"
Aurora nodded vigorously with a hint of gleam in her eyes.
"Men are like this. The better you treat them, the less they cherish you. In the future, let him do whatever work you do. You will give him orders."
Aurora looked at me in disbelief and shook her head repeatedly.
She thought I was lying to her.
"Every woman in this village treats their husband so well. Do you think their husbands love them?"
