My wife turned her head and saw me, her face instantly turning pale.
"What are you doing here?"
I snorted and said, "I came to see what you, my good daughter, have been doing behind my back!"
People present had a heated discussion.
"Is he the father of this woman? He looks too young to be her father."
"Something doesn't seem right. This woman has a gloomy look. She must have done something wrong."
My wife gritted her teeth and wanted to speak several times, but she ended up lowering her head in guilt when faced with my stare.
The man thought I was really her dad and walked up to me with a smile, saying, "Hello, Mr. Parker."
I wanted to laugh. My wife was indeed a player.
"Laura Parker, he called me Mr. Parker. What do you think I should respond?"
Laura lowered her head and took a long time to say something.
"Let's talk about it when we get back. I know I shouldn't have picked the rose. Pay it for me, and I'll explain it to you later."
She still refused to reveal our relationship to the public.
At the same time, she deliberately mentioned the rose-picking incident, making everyone think that I was angry because of that.
At that point, my colleague ran over, asked me to calm down, and pulled me away forcefully.
As I left, I clenched my fists and looked at Laura fiercely.
"Laura, you are really something!"
Seeing that I was about to leave, Laura quickly stopped me.
When I thought she was finally going to give me an explanation for her behavior, she suddenly said something unexpected.
"Transfer me the money."
Good! You want me to pay?
"Didn't you say love was beautiful? Ask your boyfriend to pay for it!"
I was so angry that my fists made cracking sounds.
The man, seeing that the situation was not right, stepped forward and stood between Laura and me.
"Mr. Parker, I know I was wrong, but Laura didn't do it on purpose either. If there's anything, come at me!"
I squinted at the man and cursed "asshole" before I was quickly pulled away by my colleague.
My colleague pulled me into the office, poured me a glass of water, and asked me why I seemed different than usual just now.
"Is she really your daughter? I couldn't tell that you are in your forties or fifties."
I rolled my eyes at my colleague.
I gritted my teeth and suppressed the anger inside me.
"That's my wife."
"What!"
My colleague was shocked at first, but soon showed sympathy towards me.
