Collagen is the protein that gives your skin its firmness, elasticity, and youthful glow. Unfortunately, collagen production naturally declines with age, leading to sagging skin, fine lines, and dryness. While expensive supplements promise results, you can nourish your skin from within using simple, natural ingredients already in your kitchen.

This DIY collagen drink blends the powerful antioxidant properties of cloves with the omega-rich hydration of chia seeds and the nutrient density of sabja (basil) seeds. Combined with lemon juice, raw honey, ginger, and cinnamon, this drink becomes a delicious and potent elixir for improving skin health, boosting natural collagen, and enhancing overall wellness.

Drink it regularly and watch your skin transform.

Ingredients Required

  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp sabja (basil) seeds
  • ½ inch fresh ginger, sliced
  • ⅛ tsp cinnamon powder
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp raw honey (optional for added taste and healing properties)

All of these ingredients are affordable, easily available, and highly effective.

Procedure

  1. Make the Spice Infusion
Boil 250 ml of water in a pan. Add the cloves, sliced ginger, and cinnamon powder. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to extract the active compounds. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Soak the Seeds
While the infusion cools, place chia seeds and sabja seeds in a glass. Add 150 ml room temperature water and let them soak for about 10 minutes. They will swell into a thick gel-like texture.
  3. Mix and Combine
Once the spice water is warm (not hot), strain it into the glass with the soaked seeds. Add lemon juice and honey. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Serve or Chill
You can drink it immediately or refrigerate it for 15–20 minutes for a cooler, thicker consistency.
