King Charles, now 77 and currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed cancer, has reportedly always held a fondness for Meghan. He publicly described himself as being “thrilled” when Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in 2017.
However, strains soon appeared amid reports of tension between Meghan and senior royals, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Catherine. There were also claims that the King took issue with Meghan’s “spending.”

Life in the United States
In 2020, Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as working royals and moved to the United States, where Meghan was born and raised.
They now reside in a $23 million mansion in Montecito with their children, six-year-old Prince Archie and four-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet have not seen the King or other senior royals in person since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
Harry, however, has made several solo visits to the UK. His most recent trip was in September, when he met his father for an hour-long meeting at Clarence House.
