The 2025 card arrives after what Prince William previously described as an extremely difficult year for the family. Earlier this year, Princess Catherine confirmed she had recovered from cancer, marking a major milestone in her health journey.

Since then, the family has relocated to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom residence within Windsor Great Park, a move widely seen as a symbolic fresh start. Catherine has also continued her public engagements, most recently hosting her fifth annual Together at Christmas carol service, honoring individuals who contribute positively to their communities.

Christmas Plans and Royal Traditions

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to spend Christmas Day at Sandringham with King Charles and Queen Camilla, continuing the long-standing royal tradition.

Earlier this month, King Charles and Queen Camilla released their own Christmas card. Their image, also taken in April, commemorated their 20th wedding anniversary and was photographed in the gardens of Villa Wolkonsky, the British ambassador’s residence in Rome. Their card featured a more traditional presentation, complete with a red border and a classic seasonal greeting wishing recipients a happy Christmas and New Year.

Despite the mixed reactions, the Wales family’s card reflects a personal and understated approach, emphasizing togetherness over convention as they close a year marked by resilience and renewal.
