A palace insider revealed details of the initiative, explaining that the couple are passionate about recognising everyday individuals who quietly make a difference.
“It truly matters to the Prince and Princess of Wales to highlight the UK’s unsung heroes,” the source told GB News. “There will be a strong focus in 2026 on showcasing the very best Britain has to offer.”
The campaign reflects William and Kate’s increasing commitment to honouring ordinary Britons — from volunteers and farmers to textile workers, artists, and engineers — whose contributions often go unnoticed.
While visiting the Isle of Mull earlier this spring, Prince William spoke about the importance of shining a light on people who serve as the “glue” holding local communities together. This renewed public push also comes as the Princess of Wales gradually returns to royal duties following her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment in 2024. Since resuming engagements, she has placed particular emphasis on the UK’s creative sectors and heritage industries.
In September, Kate visited textile manufacturers in Suffolk and Kent, where she met artisans and praised the resurgence of traditional craftsmanship.
