The strained relationship between father and son remains painfully clear. Prince Harry and King Charles have not met in person since September last year — a meeting that reportedly lasted less than an hour. Even more striking, the King has not seen Archie and Lilibet since 2022 and has met Lilibet only once.
Royal commentator Jasmine Carey offered a different perspective, suggesting the rift may never truly heal unless Harry brings his children to the UK himself.
Writing for the Daily Express, Carey noted that while Charles is King, he is also “a loving, caring family man.” She added that as a devoted grandfather, being separated from Archie and Lilibet is likely a source of “anguish” for the monarch.

Carey also pointed out that Harry’s security concerns — often cited as the reason for keeping his children away from the UK — could be revisited as his latest security review moves forward.
Although King Charles remains surrounded by grandchildren through Prince William, Carey emphasized that he would “no doubt still be wishing for a relationship with Archie and Lilibet.”
For now, even if tensions between father and son appear to be easing slightly, royal insiders believe a full reconciliation remains unlikely — unless Harry makes a genuine effort to reintegrate his entire family back into the King’s life.
And until then, hopes of a heart-warming royal reunion may remain just that — hopes.
