“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead.”
She also expressed gratitude to The Royal Marsden Hospital in London for “looking after me so well”.
“My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more,” Kate added.
William on the impact of illness
In October, Prince William, 43, spoke candidly about the toll the family’s recent health battles had taken, describing the experience as having a “rug pulled from under your feet”.
“You maybe think to yourself ‘It won’t happen to us, we’ll be okay’. Because I think everyone has a positive outlook,” the Prince of Wales told Schitts Creek star Eugene Levy.
“But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not great places.”
