It was claimed that the Duke of Sussex is hoping his father will travel to Montecito to spend time with Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, whom Charles has not seen since 2022.

During the US trip, King Charles is expected to visit Washington DC and meet President Donald Trump as part of events marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. Any visit to California would require an additional six-hour flight.

“Harry has made it clear that he would love his dad to come and visit him and the family,” a source told The Sun.

“He knows that they are strained, but he has mentioned several times a hope that his father can have a relationship with his grandchildren.”

Backlash and Criticism

The rumours prompted a sharp response from TV presenter Mark Dolan, who dismissed the idea of a Montecito visit as unrealistic.

“It shows just how deluded Prince Harry is if he thinks that Charles is going to interrupt a rather important global tour to the US … and make a trip to that [mansion in Montecito],” the TalkTV host told the Daily Express.

“He’s got another thing coming.”

Dolan went on to claim that Harry’s desire for a visit was less about his children and more about seeking personal validation from his father.
