“Whenever William would get riled up about it, she would calm the situation down and bring him back to what matters most to them. That is their family and what they are doing.”

Family Comes First

Speaking to People, Myers emphasised that family remains at the heart of William and Catherine’s priorities as they raise Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

“They believe that having a strong, stable environment at home gives them the best chance of succeeding in what can be an incredibly challenging institution,” Myers said.

He added that even if reconciliation between the brothers never happens, the Prince and Princess of Wales would not block their children from forming a relationship with their cousins in California.

“William and Catherine had retreated from having any direct contact with the Sussexes, but they privately maintained that if there was a way for their children to have a relationship with their cousins in the future, they would not stand in their way.”
