Oh my God! What the hell have I done?
My phone suddenly rang.
I didn't know who was calling, but I was in a very bad mood now!
"Hello? Who is this? And what do you want?"
"Miss Calvert, hello. It's me, Gordon."
I remembered Gordon, so I sounded less careless and casual.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Fowler. You're calling me because..."
I didn't finish my words, but he seemed to understand what I wanted to say.
He chuckled, "Miss Calvert, I'm calling to fulfill yesterday's promise. Would you honor me with a dinner tonight?"
Hearing his words, I thought, I said that yesterday because I didn't want to embarrass him. He took it seriously? Well, fine. Never mind.
Then, I said to Gordon, "Alright. I promised to treat you. Let's meet at Spring Restaurant."
"Okay, Miss Calvert. See you there."
"Okay, bye-bye."
After hanging up the phone, I sighed helplessly in my heart, Oh, no. I already have a boyfriend, don't I? It doesn't feel right for me to go on a blind date with someone else.
No. No. I'm just inviting someone to dinner to apologize. It's not a blind date.
Later, I arrived at Spring Restaurant. "Mr. Fowler, sorry for the waiting. The traffic was heavy." I scratched my head and looked at Gordon apologetically.
"It's okay. I just arrived," Gordon smiled and gestured for me to sit down.
Then, he said, "Miss Calvert, don't call me Mr. Fowler. It's too formal. Just call me Gordon."
I handed him the menu and said, "Okay, Gordon. You can call me Isabel."
Gordon smiled. Soon, all the dishes were served.
The waiter said with a smile, "Miss, sir, hope you'll enjoy this meal."
Just as I was about to pick up the food, I casually looked up and saw a pair of pitiful eyes.
I thought to myself, Oh, no. This is bad.
"I'm sorry, Gordon. I think I need to use the washroom now."
I smiled apologetically at Gordon and then got up to walk to Trey.
"Trey, what are you doing here? I just came to have dinner with him."
Resignedly, I held Trey's hand and walked to a corner.
He said, "Isabel, you're my girlfriend, but you didn't have dinner with me. Now, you're even having a blind date with someone else."
Trey sounded aggrieved, and I suddenly felt very guilty.
I hurriedly explained, "It's not a blind date. I just wanna apologize to him for the misunderstanding yesterday. Sorry."
After saying so, I tiptoed and wanted to pat Trey's head. However, I was only 5.3 feet tall and was a bit short in front of him.
