Jayden shouted the words, gasping for breath.
Grayson's hand on Jayden's neck paused, and he suddenly looked down.
"What did you just say?
"How could your mom have given me her kidney? When I had leukemia back then, it was clearly Chloe who gave me hers."
Jayden's gaze was firm as he seriously looked down on Grayson.
"Dad, you're dumb. You've been fooled by that woman again.
"Can't you see? Chloe just wants to replace my mom. That's why she's lying all the time!
"My mom didn't push her at all. She lost the baby because she insisted on going to the gym against advice, and she blamed my mom! My mom is innocent!"
Hearing these words, my face was already covered in tears.
It turned out that my six-year-old son trusted me more than my husband of eight years.
Ever since Chloe came back from abroad five years ago, our peaceful life had been shattered.
On the day of my son's first birthday, I was overjoyed waiting for Grayson to come home to celebrate.
But he didn't return even by 10 PM.
I went downstairs with my child to look for him, only to find him and Chloe in a tight embrace.
"Would you come back to me? If you want, I can leave my wife and child for you."
Chloe giggled and replied that she hadn't decided yet.
She also demanded that Grayson no longer share a bed with me.
Grayson lovingly kissed her forehead. Sure enough, when he returned, he became obedient.
For the next two years, he never touched me again.
Even if he had any desire, he would just get up and take a cold shower.
Until later, Chloe got pregnant.
Grayson was overjoyed and barely came home anymore.
His laptop, aside from work-related matters, was filled with meticulous lists of preparations for the delivery.
One list was for Chloe, and the other was for the unborn child.
Bitterness filled my heart. When I gave birth to Jayden, he had never been this attentive.
That night, I argued with him.
Grayson coldly looked at me, not even interested in arguing.
"Can you stop being unreasonable?
"Chloe is all alone in the country with no one to look after her. We grew up together. Can't I take care of her a little more?
"You had so many nannies with you from pregnancy to childbirth. What do you have to complain about?"
He snatched his coat from my hands and left decisively.
He didn't even turn around when our son cried out loudly.
