"She gave herself up to secure the deal. She did it for the sake of you and the company."

I let out a cold laugh. Evelyn’s talent for twisting the truth had grown day by day. After seven years by Leo’s side, all it took was a few words from her to paint me as morally questionable in his mind.

He cast an irritated look my way then he held out his hand expectantly and commanded, “Fine. For Evelyn's sake, I’ll let this slide for now. Hand over the preliminary contract.”

Without changing my expression, I reached into my bag, pulled out a document and threw it onto the table in front of him.

Leo frowned. Clearly, he was annoyed. He picked up the papers and preached to my face, "Julie, if only you had half of Evelyn's maturity, you would have handed over the contract earlier. If you did that, I wouldn't have to …."

His voice trailed off as he read the bold letters on the document. It said, Divorce Agreement. His face contorted in shock.

He asked, "Divorce agreement? Julie, what's the meaning of this?"
